This enforced break from traveling has forced me to look realistically at the task I have set myself and to conclude that it is just not possible to follow the route to Scotland in one contiguous journey.
Myanmar’s land borders are closed for the foreseeable future
Iran is a no go due to the conflict there
The route through the Pamir highway needs to be done between May and September
So what do I do now?
I really enjoy riding the bike and am pleased with the design and function of her.
Improvements I dwell on are having the panels pivot to follow the sun but the engineering involved in this is beyond my competence at present. The simple design that can break down into three checked on bags for international flights may be hard to realise with more complexity…

Greece/Italy/France schengen 90 day visa December – February
UK March – April LEJOG
Fly Edinburgh to Halifax Canada May
Ride to Vancouver May to September
Fly back to NZ October
