Zero’s at Mildura

Decided on a few zero days as this place is relaxing, cheap and friendly (mostly). The ‘mostly’ refers to the visitor that made my bike alarm chirp at 4:15am! The picture above is the view from the road where I assume my visitor came from. After talking to the camp proprietors it seems that quite a few folk have been ripped off lately so the bike will be even closer to the tent tonight than usual. The folk camped beside me are great and I’ve enjoyed the folk dropping past to ask about the bike and the journey so will stay another couple of nights enjoying the slower pace of life. The general plan is to mooch my way up the Murray toward Echuca and then perhaps head across to the Grampians before I begin my WWOOF’ing adventure in Melbourne a week before flying out. I’m looking forward to catching up with cousin Jacqueline before heading back to NZ as well while in Melbourne.

These most beautiful parrots make the worst sound of any bird I know!

The forecast I have just seen shows a wet day on Wednesday so may extend my stay here until that has passed through.

Looking toward next year this excites me: https://www.thesuntrip.com/en/project-sun-trip-maroc-2025/
I have sent an application to participate so wait to see if I am accepted.
